St.Joseph's was founded in 1872. The old Church was opened in 1882 and the present Church, designed by the well known Architect, Mr. Vincent Stienlet, was opened in 1986. The art work is by the internationally known artist Fenwick Lawson. It is a delightful Church and well worth a visit. It won the Leeds award for Architecture in 1987, you will find the Church open between 8.00am and 3.30pm. All are welcome.
We are fortunate to have the support of our Deacon Charlie Conner.
We are blessed with the prayers of the Sisters in the two convents, The Carmelite Convent at Wood Hall and the Holy Family Convent in Sicklinghall.
We are particularly blessed in our two outstanding schools, St. Joseph's Wetherby and St. John Fisher, Harrogate.
You will find a list of all Parish Organisations on the Website. If there is a particular area that is not covered, we are always open to new ideas and new offers of help.
Our Parish has a commitment to Christian Unity and to the less fortunate at home and abroad. We support 70 orphans in the parish of Katangi in Kenya.
